Programs and services include the following:
Comprehensive College Consultation Program - This in depth, comprehensive, college planning program covers all aspects of college preparation, research, application and financial aid. Our goal is to facilitate the college selection and application process by identifying those schools that have the best degree of fit – academically, socially and financially. This program provides the greatest range of services through the entire college search and application process. Assistance is also provided for college orientation for freshman course planning. Contact continues through the freshman year of college. Up to 40 hours of service provided.
Quick Start Program – This program is intended for seniors who are starting their college search and application process. This package starts with both learning style and college fit assessments necessary to develop a meaningful and manageable target college list. Up to 30 hours of college planning services are available. If additional services are required beyond this amount, additional time can be arranged through one of several hourly, mini-consultation packages.
Mini-Consultation Packages – These packages provide multi-hour assistance for any aspect of the college search and application process and are best when only a specific range of services are needed. These can be also be used to extend either the Comprehensive or Quick Start Consultation program. Packages are available for 5-, 10-, 15- and 20-hour amounts.
Career and College Fit Assessment - This assessment package is designed to identify career interests and related college majors and the various aspects of the college experience that contribute to a good college fit. The complete Career and College Fit assessment process typically involves four - five working sessions working sessions one-on-one with the student. One session focuses on the Do What You Are assessment, which is based on the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator; one – two sessions are devoted to the Lattitudes aptitude assessment; and one session addresses the Self-Survey I and II, which assesses personal college fit factors and values. A final session is provided to meet with the student and parents to summarize the results.
SAT/ACT Diagnostic Assessment - This assessment identifies whether your child performs better on the SAT or the ACT. For all colleges that require admission test scores, both the SAT and the ACT are accepted. Knowing which test presents your child better can save time, expense and energy as they move toward college applications. It is far more important for your child’s college application that they submit scores from the assessment on which they perform better. The SAT/ACT Diagnostic Assessment is administered at this office and can be completed in approximately three and one-half hours and consists of both a mini-SAT and an ACT. Results are usually available within 48 – 72 hours. Results of the nine-page report are discussed in a one hour follow up session.
